This two day course is designed to give an understanding of the 2002 ISDA Master Agreement and the ISDA Credit Support Annex under English law. A bank which is able to organize the negotiation and execution of ISDA documentation efficiently gains: 

  • Credit and legal protection for its OTC derivatives transactions;
  • An enforceable close-out mechanism if its counterparty defaults or goes bankrupt;
  • The benefit of regulatory capital savings on its trading book risk;
  • Regulatory approval because it is using market leading documentation.

Lecturer

Ernst has been involved with repo, securities lending, commodities and derivatives documentation since 1999 and was a well known negotiator with ING Financial Markets and NV Nuon Energy Trade & Wholesale and various other banks and commodity trading firms. Ernst has studied law at the University of Amsterdam and did an MBA at NIMBAS-Bradford Graduate School of Management.
