The Intermediate Corporate Actions training is designed to develop attendees’ knowledge of corporate actions from their existing fundamental level to an intermediate level. Awareness of specific aspects of corporate actions will be introduced, including explanations of:

  • background to and management of specific complex events (e.g. capital repayment on mortgage-backed securities, bond exchange-offers, share capital decreases);
  • activities conducted by buy-side and sell-side firms that cause greater complexity in management of corporate actions (e.g. short selling, securities lending & borrowing).

Content

To ensure the attendees gain a thorough understanding of all topics, attendees will be provided with a highly structured handout/workbook containing text in bullet-point form and many embedded diagrams.

 

Lecturer

During his Investment Banking career Michael gained hands-on experience of day-to-day management responsibility for many operational areas. About 10 years ago Michael started to specialize in delivering training and has run courses in the UK, US, Japan, India and Dubai. He is also trainer for ICMA’s Operations Certificate Program seminar. Michael is author of the books “Securities Operations, a Guide to Trade and Position Management”, and “Corporate Actions, a Guide to Securities Event Management”.
