Migration
A renowned international financial institution used our services for the project management of a data migration from Dublin to Amsterdam. At that point, the system migration had already been started. Total Solutions was asked to support in the staffing of the new department. Given the key role of the data management department for this financial institution, continuity in the services had to be guaranteed.
In consultation with the client, Total Solutions divided the project in two parts:
Part 1: Selection of 10 new employees
For the department in Amsterdam we selected 10 specialists within the specified timeline, varying from employee to manager
Part 2: Data management training
Well before the migration date Total Solutions gave one of our trainers the task to analyze the data management system and the new process. By combining this knowledge with the existing training modules of Total Solutions, we developed a customized training programme in an efficient way. The result of this training was that all employees became familiarized with the data management process and the associated procedures in a short time.
By careful planning and our guiding of the personnel, the project was completed without any interruption in the service to the end client. As a direct result of this project, new standards of migration processing were agreed and implemented with our Client organisation.
Outplacement
In 2009 a leading Asset Manager had to close its operations department due to an acquisition. As a preferred supplier, Total Solutions had delivered Interim Managers, Temporary and Permanent staff and organized training programs for this Asset Manager for years.
With our combined experience of both the Financial and Labor markets, Operations and references, the Asset Manager gave Total Solutions the task to support the outplacement of the employees who wanted to continue their career within the Financial Markets.
After personal intakes we gave the employees interview training. This training included the entire interview process and started with construction of an effective CV and ended with intensive coaching during the job search period. This training was especially essential for the employees who had been working for this company for the majority of the career.
Total Solutions is a supplier of Interim Management, Permanent and Temporary staff for many leading Financial Institutions and as a result, we knew which companies were looking for new candidates at that time. With this knowledge, Total Solutions was able to inform the employees, at an early stage of the outplacement process, which organizations would have suitable vacancies, depending upon their requirements and focus.
The combination of an effective training program, combined with our knowledge of financial markets has been the key to success. Within 3 months Total Solutions successfully replaced 50% of the employees at other financial institutions. Another 30% found new positions within 6 months. Both the employees and the client look back on the outplacement project as a success.
