Total Solutions offers outplacement solutions to Financial institutions that - due to circumstances - are forced to let their employees go. Besides standard outplacement activities, Total Solutions distinguishes itself by our comprehensive network and we can ensure oversight of any suitable vacancies in other financial institutions and prepare candidates specifically for their interview. This covers a wide spectrum of accompanying services to help dismissed employees (or employees threatened with dismissal) in finding a new job in financial markets.
The outplacement program consists of different stages:
During the intake interview, we discuss the personal preferences of the employee, their work experience, personal situation and ambition.
This intake may have 3 different outcomes:
- The employee would prefer to continue his/her career in the Financial markets arena
- The employee isn’t sure if he/she wants to stay in this sector, but also isn’t sure what he/she would like to do
- The employee would like to explore working in a different sector
2. Preparation of the cv and skills study
A lot of employees may have worked for the same company for years, which makes them inexperienced in writing an effective cv or applying for new positions. Daily, we receive cv’s in which 15 years of experience is summarized on 2 pages, or the other way around - 5 years of experience in 5 pages. The objective is to let the employee construct a clear cv in which their competences and relevant work experience comes forward.
3. Exploration of the labour market
Total Solutions is in daily contact with a large number of different companies, therefore we can give employees a clear view of the way in which companies are recruiting staff and the vacancies that are currently available. We assist the employee in the direct application for vacancies and we search in our own network for other possibilities. Furthermore, we actively assist them in their dealings with other recruitment agencies, the search for relevant vacancies on job websites and how to use their own network.
4. Preparation for an interview
An interview is quite exciting and requires good preparation. Total Solutions helps the employee in the preparation and conducting of an interview:
- Who is the person that will interview you?
- Is the content of the job clear?
- Preparation of questions regarding the organisation and the content of the job
- Which question might you expect?
- Non-verbal communication
5. The interview process
The interview will be evaluated and feedback will be discussed. Wherever necessary, we will help you in the preparation of a following interview.

In a world in which coaching has became a standard concept that exists in many shapes and sizes, we as Total Solutions have decided to only apply coaching within our own specialty: Financial Markets. This is a specific market area, with its own peculiarities which outsiders can find difficult to understand. Because we have knowledge of the market, processes and companies involved, we can effectively work with the person being coached and add huge value to the process.
Within Total Solutions we have 3 certified coaches, each of them with their own specialty.
With executive coaching we start with an intake interview to determine the specific question and set up a coaching plan. With our knowledge of Financial Markets it is easier for our coaches to establish which subjects will need extra attention.
Based on the interview we will determine the objectives and their timelines. The coaching sessions are 1 on 1 and can be held on location.
Operational coaching is often used to clarify ambitions and motivation.
Determining what you want for yourself and clarifying your ambitions can be difficult; our coaches guide you through that process.
Our operational coaching is often used as a result of company re-organizations. How to cope with insecurity about not only yourself but also your team? How can you stay effective if you do not know whether you have a job tomorrow? And what if you do lose your job in the end?
We have an extensive outplacement program for these issues, but sometimes it might be helpful to be coached personally by someone with experience in financial markets and with knowledge of the current labour market.
Coaching for new managers
Total Solutions can coach new managers in the development of their skills. New managers have to cope with a new role, other responsibilities and a different way of approaching colleagues. By coaching we can assist new managers to be comfortable and confident in this role.
We all experience discussions with colleagues or managers. Sometimes these discussions can get blown out of all proportion and results in there being no common ground left to really communicate with each other. In a worse case scenario, this can result in a hugely deteriorated working relationship, or even a dispute, when communication is constantly stagnating.
A mediator helps to make the content of the dispute discussable again to prevent a situation in which the working relation becomes ruined permanently.
For both parties in any industrial dispute, going to court is financially and emotionally difficult and unattractive. Within Total Solutions we have a certified mediator who can help you with this kind of situation. She has been working for over 20 years in financial markets and is a specialist dispute mediation.
