Shares were previously sold as a physical share and issued as a certificate. Nowadays this process is digital and the Bank only specifies the kind of Stock and the amount.

The Custodian is the financial party that keeps the financial papers like the Stocks and Bonds in Custody. A Custodian manages and administers the capital of large Fund Managers and is always aware of its value, when markets fluctuate and prices change constantly.

Additional duties of a Custodian include informing the Client of the terms of payment of Dividends and Taxes, Coupon transactions, reporting of Risk to the holder of the Securities and assisting in the application of financial Derivatives.
